Cherry & Marzipan Truffles

Rum soaked cherries truffles with marzipan chocolate & hazelnuts

These Grog inspired truffles have a rum soaked cherry in the centre and are coated with marzipan, orange blossom water infused dark chocolate and chopped hazelnuts.

Makes roughly 20 truffles

You Will Need (7 things)

  • 400 g Dark Chocolate
  • 250 g Marzipan
  • 200 g Cherries
  • 150 g Chopped Hazelnuts
  • 10 ml Don Papa Rum
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 2 tsp Orange Blossom Water

Steps (8 steps, 35 minutes)

    Place the cherries in a bowl and add the rum.

    Sprinkle with brown sugar and leave the cherries to soak up the rum for a few hours while chilling in the fridge.

    Break off some marzipan, roll into a ball and flatten into a disk. Place a cherry in the middle and wrap the marzipan around it before re-rolling into a smooth ball.

    Continue coating all the cherries in marzipan.

    Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave and stir in the orange blossom water.

    Coat each marzipan truffle in dark chocolate.

    Roll in toasted chopped hazelnuts.

    Place on a sheet of parchment paper to set.
