Carryout is for wimps. ;)

I am not affiliated with Pizza Hut, nor do I know anything about their recipe, this is just an idea that sprouted from Midnight Munchies (like most ideas). Theirs may even be better, but mine only costs 15$ to make 20 (roughly .75$ a slice) while the name brand is 8.99 for 9, plus tax and tip (1.27$ a slice, 1.10$ for carry-out). Not too shabby. :)

Description

I am not affiliated with Pizza Hut, nor do I know anything about their recipe, this is just an idea that sprouted from Midnight Munchies (like most ideas). Theirs may even be better, but mine only costs 15$ to make 20 (roughly .75$ a slice) while the name brand is 8.99 for 9, plus tax and tip (1.27$ a slice, 1.10$ for carry-out). Not too shabby. :)

Instructions

  1. Small 2012 07 24 00.44.05

Gather all of your ingredients together and preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prep your cookie sheet buy placing a sheet of aluminum foil over it to cover evenly. Because we bought pre-sliced bread, I have no photos of doing that, but this is when you'll need to sliced your bread.

  2. Small 2012 07 24 00.28.38

Take your bread slices and fit onto the cookie sheet. (I didn't start taking pictures until the second round, so stuff had already been exhausted and cooked on, haha.) Take your garlic spread and spread onto bread in a thin layer.

  3. Small 2012 07 24 00.34.49

This gives the bread the lovely garlic flavor. You could probably even use the pre-buttered kind and it still be fine, but this was more fun (didn't really cost extra, either cause the bread was on sale). The chunks of garlic in the spread make your house spell delicious while it's baking.

  4. Small 2012 07 24 00.38.02

At this time, take a bag of cheese and generously sprinkle the mixture onto the slices of buttered breads. If you would like them to be just cheese, stop after this point and put into the oven.

  5. Small 2012 07 24 00.43.25

We wanted ours to be pepperoni, but you can make it anyways you want it, with sausage crumbles, leftover hamburger meat, even a Hawaiian style with Canadian bacon and pineapple chunks (as it's called here in the states). If doing pepperoni, put 4-5 slices of pepperoni on each piece of bread. Using only 4 slices each will help stretch the pepperoni, but we wanted extras. :9

  6. Put into the oven, close to the top. I'm not sure why, but they turned out better that way for us; nice and crunchy. Set timer for 10-11 minutes and wait while the delicious smells of pizza permeate through your kitchen.

  7. Small 2012 07 24 00.56.53

Once the timer goes of, take out of the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Don't worry if the cheese sort of puffs up a little when you take it out, it'll deflate as it cools. When cool enough, serve a few slices with a cup of marinara sauce and enjoy!
