You Will Need (7 things)

  • Fabric
  • Art Knife
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Cutting Board
  • Sewing Machine or Fabric Glue
  • Button

Steps (15 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

Gather your materials. You'll need fabric (I'm using suede because it's tougher), an art knife, pencil, ruler, a button, cutting board, and either a sewing machine or fabric glue.

  2. 2

You want to create a pouch with your fabric, so place your phone on your fabric, and flip one side over, so you have one covered side (the bottom of the pouch), and three open sides.

  3. 3

You want to make sure there is at least 1 cm around each side of your phone, although I recommend having about 2 cm at the opening of the pouch. Make your markings.

  4. 4

Since I used suede, instead of using my scissors to cut it down, I used my art knife to cut out a rectangle.

  5. 5

Making sure that your fabric has the bad side facing up, it's time to create the pouch. To create the opening, flip over the top edges and sew them in place (this will create a nice smooth edge). Then sew up the two side edges.

  6. 6

Once done, turn the fabric inside out and you'll have yourself a pretty little pouch. Now it's time to embellish.

  7. 7

We're going to make a little bow now. Cut out a rectangle from another piece of fabric.

  8. 8

Fold it in half. Sew up one edge, and turn it inside out.

  9. 9

Fold the two sides into the middle and glue or sew in place.

  10. 10

To finish making the bow, sew or glue a piece of fabric around the middle, and then glue or sew your bow onto the pouch.

  11. 11

Taking a tiny strip of fabric, sew it onto the back inside wall of your pouch.

  12. 12

On the front of your pouch, beneath the bow, make a little slit. I put a ruler into the inside of the pouch so I didn't accidentally cut through the back of the pouch.

  13. 13

Pull the piece of suede through.

  14. 14

About half an inch below the slit, sew on a button. You want one that will allow you to twist something around it.

  15. 15

Enjoy the finished cell phone pouch!
