Cat Backpack

A simple and easy way to jazz up an old backpack.

This can transform any backpack from old to super adorable.

You could also try this with other kinds of animals like rabbits, teddy bears and bats.

First take an old backpack.
This one is old, so I ripped off the bow and started from there.

Cut out your shapes for the eyes, mouth, paws and tail from some felt.

These shapes can change depending on how you want your backpack animal to look. Basic shapes can be used to make eyes, mouths and paws.

Now stick these shapes to your backpack. I decided to place mine here with high strength glue.

It would be more secure to sew them, however my bags fabric was waaay to thick.

Now, get your ear shapes and sew them to the top of your backpack.

I have sewn my ears to the thick cloth of the zipper. Its thinner there and thus, easier to sew.

You'll end up with somethink like this. You can see his paws though, they were like rounded cylinder shapes.

Last is the funnest bit - acessorize your new baggy friend with whatever you fancy. I decided a snazzy bow tie for my kitten friend here.

I think I'll call him Kuro-chan.

LOL, if I put a moon on his forhead he's look like sailor moon's Luna - theres something for all of you guys to try. :)
