    SQUARES Square A: Make 30 Star Grass squares using B for Rnd 1, C for Rnd 2, and A for Rnd 3. Square B: Make 29 Star Grass squares using C for Rnd 1, B for Rnd 2, and A for Rnd 3.

    ASSEMBLY Sew squares together, using whipstitch seam, following Assembly Diagram, and being careful to match long sides to long sides, short sides to short sides.

    EDGING Note: Count each joined corner ch-3 sp as a st, sk each seam. RND 1: With RS facing, join A with a Sl st in bottom right corner sp, ch 1, **(sc, ch 2, sc) in corner ch-3 sp (corner made), *sc in each sc across to next joined ch-3 sp, sc in joined ch-3 sp, sk seam, sc in next joined ch-3 sp, sc in each sc until next ch-3 sp, (sc, ch 2, sc) in sp (corner made), rep from * across to next corner square, sc in each sc across to next corner, rep from ** around, join with a Sl st in first sc. Fasten off.

    TASSELS (MAKE 24) Cut 10 strands of A, each 18" (45.5 cm) long. Fold bundle in half, using a crochet hook draw the folded end through each corner ch-3 sp about 2" (5 cm) to form a loop, bring strands of yarn through loop, and tighten into a knot. Trim edges if needed.

Whipstitch Seam The whipstitch seam works best for sewing straight-edged seams. This method creates a little decorative ridge on the right side of the work. Place two squares side by side, wrong side up, aligning the stitches of the outer round. Insert the needle through the top loops of corresponding stitches, bring through and around, and repeat.
