This unique cat house is completely made out of cardboard...A LOT of cardboard! I am sure all of you have many cardboard boxes that have become useless over the years...don't throw them away! This is a perfect project to reuse all of that cardboard and create a great house for your cat ;) Its structure makes this cat bed extremely strong and can be used as a fun scratch post too. I am sure your cat will love it!

This is a perfect project to reuse all of that cardboard and create a great house for your cat ;) Its structure makes this cat bed extremely strong and can be used as a fun scratch post too. I am sure your cat will love it!
Cut 38 discs out of cardboard that are one smaller than the other. The biggest one needs to be 21,5 cm (8.46 inches), all the next ones must be 5 mm (0.19 inches) smaller than the previous one. So the second one will be 21 cm, the third one 19,5 cm etc.
All of those discs need to have a round hole in them. To do this, cut out a new disc leaving 4 cm (1.57 inches) from each disc's border. Do this for all of them except the biggest and smallest ones. The biggest one will be the base.
Cut at least 7 more discs that are as big as the last disc (the base), and cut out the round hole in them like you did for the others.
Now try to compose your pyramid laying the base first, then all the same size discs on it, one above the other.
Keep adding all the other discs, starting from the biggest to the smallest, in scale, one after the other.
This is the way your pyramid should look when all the pieces have been placed one above the other.
Now consider the section of your cat house where you want to create the door. I left the base free and counted 20 layers (discs) from it to the top, and left all the remaining ones free.
Draw signs on that section, as if you were drawing the door. Make sure to draw signs on each piece. Make the door as large as you want, the most important thing is that it's large enough for your cat to pass through it.
Draw lines on each disc following the signs you traced. The lines must be straight as if you were drawing the diagonals of the discs, as you can see in the picture.
Cut where you drew the lines on the discs so that each of them misses a piece. Those pieces that are missing will form the door.
Again, place all your pieces one above the other making sure to put them in the right position and you'll see the door forming. Glue all those pieces together if you are sure of your composition and add the top pieces too, always gluing them with white glue.
Finally, glue the base pieces together and attach it to the rest of the cat house that you have already glued.
When the glue is completely dry, your cardboard cat house is done! You can insert a pillow or blanket in it and let your cat try it!
