Creation Sew with right sides together and 1/4 ̋ seam allowances. Pair a white 21/2 ̋ × 21/2 ̋ square with a colored 21/2 ̋ × 21/2 ̋ square and sew together on the diagonal to make a half-square triangle. Trim the seam 1/4 ̋ from the sewn line (on either side) and press open. Make 18.
Take 2 of the white/color squares made in Step 1 and place another color square on top of each. Sew together along the opposite diagonal. Press open. Trim the seam 1/4 ̋ from the sewn line (on either side) and press open. Make 2.

Repeat Steps 1–4 to complete 6 hearts.
Place the heart blocks in the desired order and sew them together, forming a strip of hearts. Sew together heart blocks.
Square up the remaining white fabric and cut the piece so that it matches the length of the heart block strip, which will be about 841/2 ̋. Cut off the selvages and then trim to 39 ̋ wide, or leave it wider if you prefer to make a slightly bigger quilt. Sew the white fabric piece to the top of the strip of hearts.
Quilt and bind to finish Candy Hearts. Consider adding an optional trim along the quilt’s edge before binding
