Step 1: Bottom -------------------------- Ch 21. Sc in 2nd st from chain. Sc across; 3 sc in last st. Work sc on opposite side of ch - ss in first sc. ** Do not "turn" unless it says so.
Step 2: Body of Wallet -------------------------- Ch 2; dc around - ss in top of ch 2. Ch 2; dc in same st and around - skip last st; ss in top of ch 2. (Repeat this two more times.) Ch 2; dc around - ss in top of ch 2.
Step 3: Flap -------------------------- Ch 2 and turn; dc in same st and dc across. (Repeat.)
Step 4: Buttonhole -------------------------- Ch 2 and turn; dc in same st and dc in next 10 st. Ch 2 and skip next 2 st and dc in next 9 st.
Step 5: Trim -------------------------- Ch 1 and turn. Dc and ch 1 three times into the 4th st. Skip a st, ss into the next one. (This makes one shell. Repeat to make two shells.) In the buttonhole, (dc, ch 1) three times and ss. Make two more shells across the rest of the flap. Sc down the side of the strap and around to where the trim starts. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Step 6: Button Closure -------------------------- Choose a 1 in. (or little larger) button for the closure. You can test it out through the buttonhole. Use a pin to mark where the button will be sewn - if you need to. Sew it on with a yarn needle and yarn - twice at least.
Step 7: Decorate -------------------------- Use your own wonderful, creative mind here...
Step 8: Enjoy -------------------------- ... <3
