i got the idea from my new cupcake book hello, cupcake!!!!! Makes 24 cupcakes
make cake mix according to box directions. or make from scratch i was not that ambitious at 2 am :/ Preheat oven to the time indicated on box. line cupcake tin with liners (i used pastel colors cus they matched my wings.)
fill liners 2/3rds the way full so they dont over flow the liners. bake and let cool.
while cakes are cooling. Place melts into ziplock bags
place in coffee mug. DO NOT CLOSE TOP OF BAGGIE!!!!!!. it will explode all over your microwave and not to mention it is highly dangerous!!!!!
put in microwave for 30 sec incramemts until fully melted. do the same for dark chocolate.
draw wing template with black marker on paper. cut wax paper or parchment paper to fit templates.
reenforce corner of both ziplocks with scotch tape. then cut small hole off of the corner you just reenforced
Follow out line with dark chocolate.
Fill in with white chocolate. spread out and swirl with skewer.
sprinkle with sprinkles!
place on tray and put in fridge. when i made them it was 94 degrees out and despite my fan it wouldnt set with out putting them in the fridge!
die 3/4 of a can or vanilla frosting blue. (or what ever color you want i just chose blue for the sky) frost all the cupcakes.
cut a melt a way in half and place on either side of the cake. to hold up wing. you could use m & m's too.
peel wax paper off of wings. place on wings.
Die remaining frosting black. place in ziplock bag. cut corner. pipe in a circular motion down the center for body and then at the top for anntenna. (i originally made chocolate antenna but it was so hot my hands kept melting them when i tried to put them on! sad. but they are still cute!!!!!)
EAT!!!!!!!!! or arrange with the flower cupcakes that i am going to post tomorrow!
