I love amigurumi, toys and cute embellishments made with crochet techniques. This is a small and very quick one, made in just a few rows and simple finishing techniques. It can be used for headbands, hairpins, a baby mobile, a necklace, or just as an appliqué for any garment.

SMALL WINGS (Make 2): Crocheted in the round in a spiral way. Ch 2. R1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook= 6 sts (I suggest placing a marker in the first st of every row to count sts and rows easier) R2: 2 sc in each sc around= 12 sts R3-7: Sc 12. When making round rows with the same number of sts your work starts to entwine. It’s better if you turn your work inside out, it will be easier to continue crocheting. Stuff after finishing R7. R8: (sc 1, sk next st) rep ( ) 6 times= 6 sts. Ss in the first st of this row. Fasten off leaving a long strand in one of the wings to sew afterwards.
BIG WINGS (Make 2): Crocheted in the round in a spiral way. Ch 2. R1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook= 6 sts R2: 2 sc in each sc around= 12 sts R3: Sc 12. R4: (sc 1, 2 sc in next st) rep ( ) 6 times= 18 sts R5-7: Sc 18 R8: (sc 1, dec 1) rep ( ) 6 times= 12 sts. R9: Sc 12. Stuff the wing. R10: (sc 1, sk next st) rep ( ) 6 times= 6 sts. Ss in the first st of this row. Fasten off leaving a long strand on both wings to sew afterwards (11.8″/ 30 cm approx)
Join small wings from the ending.
Then sew the big wings. Once they are both joined, wrap one of the remaining strands around the seam, leaving a 2″/ 5 cm tip. Then wrap the other in the opposite direction. Make a double knot with both ends to form the antennas. The butterfly is ready.
