Description

This is my first tutorial so I have tons of pics :D Tutorials are so much fun! haha

Instructions

  1. Small 11085

So first you measure your waist where you want the skirt to sit. Divide that number by two. Measure that out on the fold of your fabric. Cut it out that length by double the width you want your waistband to be. Mine was 10 then when I folded it in half became 5. Cut on the fold to create two pieces. Pin them together at the short sides.

  2. Small 11086

Lay your fabric down and cut down the center fold. Decide how long you want your skirt to be and cut it as desired. I left mine the lenght of the half of the fabric. Set the rest aside for another project, decorations, ect.

  3. Small 11087

Its time to bust out the iron. Make the bottom hem. Iron and pin down then sew. Then sew the waistband pieces together. I opened the flaps and sewed them down. Then fold the whole thing in half, long ways and iron. <img src=http://i63.photobucket.com/albums/h160/Britdork/bugskirttutfive.jpg>

  4. Small 11092

Drink diet green tea cause your very thirsty :D *optional ^_^

  5. Small 11088

Ruffle or pleat the skirt fabric so that its the same length as your waistband and pin. I did this by pinning each end of the waistband to the end of my skirt fabric then pleating the middle at random. Not the most precise way of doing it but thats how I do it.

  6. Small 11089

Pin the top of the skirt to the bottom of the waistband. Use lots of pins! Then sew.

  7. Sew on your zipper. Then sew up the gap. No photo. Sorry.

  8. Small 11091

All done! :D Wear it happily. If you have questions, ask away and I'll try my hardest to answer them :] POST PICS OF SKIRTS YOU MAKE USING THIS TUT :D Please and thankies.
