You Will Need (2 things)

  • Fabric
  • Elastic

Steps (7 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

  2. 2

For this skirt you will need elastic, fabric, and you're sewing machine/needle and thread. Obviously. First off is fabric. The poofyness of your skirt results from how long your fabric is to begin with. Mine could wrap around me once and a half or so. Cut out how ever much fabric you think is good, depending on how ruffly you want the top to be, and set it on an ironing table/surface whatever. Then take your iron and fold down the edge of the fabric a tiny bit and iron. Then fold the fabric over again. This is gonna be the casing for your elastic waistband. Iron it and pin.

  3. 3

Pop your copy of "Pretty. Odd." in to the cd player for some great sewing tunes
Shake your bum to Nine in the Afternoon while ironing.
Sing loudly so the neighbors can hear.
    :D

    *optional ;]

  4. 4

Okay, back to business. Sew your casing. At the end of the top, cute out a little square. This will help when feeding your elastic through. Pin the skirt ends together starting fron UNDER!!!! the waistband casing. And sew.

  5. 5

Cut enough elastic to fit around your waist. Fold over and iron your bottom hem. Sew it down. Measure around your legs where you want the bottom of the skirt to be.

  6. 6

Then, feed the elastic waistband into the casing and sew the hole closed.

  7. 7

Sew the edges of the elastic together and sew it to the bottom of the skirt, stretching it as you go.Even out the top and dance around cause you're done :D

POST ANY PICS OF SKIRTS YOU MAKE USING THIS TUTORIAL :D
