The first bracelet i made like this was at 4 am last night. (: I love how this turned out. Its the perfect accessory to complete a cute summer outfit. Oh, and this is my first tutorial sorry if I confuse you. :D The last picture is basically what i used as inspiration. I plan on making another tutorial that includes charms and a chain.
First, gather all of your materials. You'll need some scrap fabric that is at least 20 in. long and 3 in. wide. I used 2 different rulers, just because one was longer then the other :)
Lay out the fabric, (I used a sleeve off of an old 100% cotton t-shirt.) Take the ruler and measure 20 in long and mark it off and do the same for 3 inches wide. Use the fabric scissors and cut it out.
Use the ruler again and put a mark at the 1 in. line and another one at the 2 in. line.
Now, cut up your strip following the marks you made. ;)
Take each strip and pull the ends until you dont feel anymore stretch left. DO NOT pull it really hard that the threads start to fray or rip.
After you've pulled each strip take the safety pin and pin all the strips together.
Take a piece of tape and take the safety pin to something sturdy, like a chair or a desk. (I taped mine to my nightstand.) Start Braiding. If you don't know how to braid, you can easily just visit google.com ;)
After you braided the whole thing leave a little at the ends unbraided. Use the ends and make a knot. Now take the tape off of whatever you used to hold it. Take the strips off of the safety pin and knot that end too.
Tie the 2 ends together by make a loop and slipping the other end through the loop and knotting it. Now, if you like the look of the long ends you can leave it like that, but i personally didnt so i cut the ends.
Now, you're finished! I think this bracelet would look great with a strappy flowy summer top and some jean shorts with sandals. ^-^
