Bows i made for my hair, all hand sewn out of scrap material :) Sorry the how to is long, im not very good at explaining but i do hope you understand. :)
cut out a rectangle of your material. I didnt measure mine i just cut it out and guessed it looked equal.
fold your piece of material in half and sew the cut ends together. i just did a straight stitch but went over it a few a times so it was strong. then sew together one of the ends of the fabric but leave the other open.
once the long side and short side are sewn pull the fabric through the hole so you can't see the fabric and it looks like a little pillowcase.
fold over the open side of the material and pin it down. try sewing on only the top back layer in which the fold is on so you dont get any thread on the other side of the bow. again all i did was a straight stitch along it a few times.
once you have your sewn rectangle of material get a strip of material you want for the middle, like ribbon or the same material or one you think will go nicely with it. the one i used was already hemmed because it was from a shirt.
get your middle bit material and see how the bow looks with how small or big the ring bit will be, then pin it in place and pull the main bow material through.
sew just before the pin along the material then turn it inside out so you have a ring.
pull the main bow bit through the ring and fiddle around with how it looks and if it looks equal.
then STARCH IT. STARCH IT LIKE THERE AIN'T NO TOMMORROW! makes it all crisp, strong and wearble. Then let it dry.
Voila. put in a hairslide and wear it with pride! or maybe a safety pin as a brooch all up to you.
