Description

This cute little bow is a very simple pattern; knitted in garter stitch it is perfect for the beginner! This colourful bow can be added to your cardigan, hat, coat or bag to brighten your day. Finished size, when made up, approx 9cm by 6cm. Tension, 22 stitches and 44 rows to 10cm over garter stitch (knitting all stitches every row) using 4mm needles.

Instructions

  1. For the main body: Using colour 1, cast on 14 stitches. Knit 40 rows in garter stitch (knitting all stitches every row). Cast off.

  2. For the central strip: Using colour 2, cast on 4 stitches. Knit 33 rows in garter stitch (knitting all stitches every row). Cast off.

  3. Making up: Sew in any loose ends on the main piece. Now, you will fix the central strip round the middle of the bow. First pinch the main piece of the bow in the centre. Next place the strip here and using your tapestry needle and yarn in colour 2, stitch the ends of the central strip together behind the bow. Now using your sewing needle and thread, stitch your brooch back to the bow!
