This is a fun little project. Amazon has some great preassemble kits for those who do not want the hassle of drilling and wiring electrical. The instructions below are for kits you will wire yourself. The filler will hide the cord from view and add stability either way.
This is a fun little project. Amazon has some great preassemble kits for those who do not want the hassle of drilling and wiring electrical. The instructions below are for kits you will wire yourself. The filler will hide the cord from view and add stability either way.
Put on gloves and safety googles.
Prep your bottle before drilling. This includes locating the spot you want to drill and soaking the bottle in hot water if you want to remove labels.
Take the scissors and cut a V shape into sponge. Place and hold the bit steady with it to keep it from skipping.
Slowly begin the drilling the glass. Remember to keep a constant stream of water to prevent the glass from over heating
Follow the instructions on the lamp kit to wire your bottle. Put the rubber grommet on your electrical cord before you run it through the hole.
Once you have the bottle wired up, press the rubber grommet into place on the hole that you drilled.
With your grommet in place you can now add the filler. This part is optional but by adding a filler you will hide the electrical cord and give the lamp stability.
Place the lamp shade on and insert the light bulb.
