I was looking through my fabric box the other day, and found a few scraps of cute fabric. What to do with them I thought? Hmm then I saw a plain vest... Lets put them both together, and make it Hello Kitty Chic (of course I had to get Hello Kitty in there somewhere!!) Hope you like it, let me know what you think! I can't remember how long it took me as I sewed it by hand...

I found a picture I wanted to use, so I traced the image and stuck it onto card, to make it thicker.
Whilst waiting for it to dry, I chose some fabric scraps I wanted to use.
< I cut out the card pieces- like this.
Taking care when cutting out Kitty's head as it was fiddly :/
I cut out the face and ear part first (I put her ear to one side so I didn't lose it)
I decided where I wanted to put Kitty (on the left side near the bottom) and pinned her head on. [It helps having a dress makers dummy, so you know where everything sits!] Sew her head on
I cut out her top and shorts out of different fabrics, then sewed them on under her head.
< Then I sewed on her feet
< Arms and hands
< Kitty BOW!! :)
Her bow didn't stand out astoo well, so I sewed a thick black outline to make it stand out.
I didn't have any black fabric, so I marked out roughly where Kitty's eyes and nose were, then sewed them in black.
Next, I marked out her whiskers, then sewed those too.
Then I finished off by sewing around the outline
Finished top :)
