This bag is a culmination of all the tutorials i have found on various craft sites (crafster, tipnut, craft stylish). I'm a bag junky and seems to be the easiest tote bag with a lining you can whip up in about an hour. I made my own handles out of the same outer fabric and sadly sewed them on the inside while watching a movie :( but alas, i digress. The "sew" must go on. This is a great project it you have a killer outfit on a budget and want a sweet bag to go with it without breaking the bank. **My good sport fiance "models" my bag for all the internet to see!**

Start by cutting out your fabric 18 inches by 18 inches. These dimensions are flexible as long as both the outer shell and inner lining are the same measurments.
The next step is really important to getting those sweet, tucked tote bag corners. Cut one inch out of what will be the bottom on the bag. (like so)
Turn the right side facing in and sew the sides and bottom. Leave the top open. ***Leave the cut corners open***
To finish the corners of the outer shell take the edges and pull in the opposite direction to make a diamond shape. Sew straight across.
When you turn the outer shell right side out(after trimming the seam and corners of course), these are the sweet corners I as talking about.
So I got distracted by this pretty little female cardinal outside of mu window and began taking pictures of this instead of how to process the inner lining of the super sweet bag. Sorry :(. but on the bright side you do the inner lining like you did the outer (right sides in, down the sides and bottom etc.) The only difference ***AND THIS IS IMPORTANT: only sew one corner closed. The other should be left unsewn to pull the whole mess right side out.
SO the next step (also ommitted because of the silly bird) is to put the outter shell (boo) right side into the inner (grey) so that the right sides are facing together. Sew all the wa around the top. This step illustrates (badly) why we left a corner unsewn. Now pull.
Keep pulling!!! The outer lining will pop out right side (as expected).
Before you stuff the lining down into the outer shell, be sure to sew up the corner we pulled everything through so you don't lose your purse in the between the layers.
Push the rest of the lining in and there you have it. If you have straps you want to go on the outside apply those now, like I said before, i sadly sewed mine on the inside.
