This lovely and feminine hair comb is lightweight and easy to wear. I especially like the overall texture and depth. It requires basic petal-pressing techniques and repetition, but it is a relatively easy piece to create and is sure to impress.

Cut the silk habotai and silk chiffon into 1 squares approximately 3 ⁄2"–4" (9cm–10cm) across until you have twenty squares of each fabric.
Separate the fabrics so you have ten stacks of silk habotai with two squares each. Do the same for the silk chiffon. By making stacks, you will save time by cutting through multiple layers at once.
Fold one stack in half.
Fold the stack in half again.
Fold the stack on the diagonal.
You should now have a triangle-shaped piece of folded silk.
Cut a rounded petal through all layers, making sure to cut the open edges and not the folded corner. To make this easier, grip the folded fabric at the bottom corner where there are folds.
When you unfold the diagonal fold, the fabric should look like a heart.
When fully open, the fabric will have eight petal points. Repeat Steps 3–8 until all silk habotai and silk chiffon stacks are cut into petals. Set the silk chiffon petals aside.
Press all ten stacks of silk habotai petals with a 1⁄2" (1cm) millinery iron or dapping tool.
Begin hand-sewing the pressed petals onto the crescent- shaped felt, starting at one end.
Continue sewing silk habotai petals onto the felt, mixing in silk chiffon petals until you have sewn all petals.
On the back, hand-sew a comb to the felt to complete the piece.
