A spin on my childhood favorite
Mix all the ingredients together leaving the egg whites aside.
Whip the egg whites with an electric mixer until they hold peaks then fold gently into the batter.
Pour the batter mixture over the waffle iron. Make sure that you do not pour too much batter on the iron or it will overflow when it expands. Pour about as much as depicted in the picture.
Let the waffles cook on the iron until they are starting to get golden brown. Once they are done, you can typically take a fork and pull up the edge. They should come off of the iron easily.
