"Blueberry Limeade" Handspun Yarn
It matches my old hair!

My hair was a dozen different shades of green, blue, and turquoise. Being the matchy-matchy girl that I am, I wanted a scarf that matched my hair. I searched and searched for a scarf and couldn't find it. So, I figured I'd just crochet one. And of course, I couldn't find a varigated yarn in 'my' colors. So, I just figured that I would finally get around to learning how to spin yarn. I used a drop spindle, which you can make cheaply, but I bought mine for $7 off a user on Etsy. This yarn is made of Lincoln wool, mohair, merino wool, bamboo fiber, and angelina. I figured that I'd try the different fibers so that I could get a feel of them. Angelina is that glittery stuff. The mohair and lincoln were the easiest to use as a beginner, they had the most 'grab.' The bamboo was very slippery, but super-soft. If you are interested in trying to spin your own yarn, there are tons of videos all over the web. I'd make a tutorial, but it's really hard to learn how to just from pictures, videos are the way to go.
