I calculated the cost of my materials and this necklace cost around 50p / $1 to make, so this is very very very cheap bling.

You can do this by hand, or go for the easy option, and use an image editing or word processing program to write out your name. I didn't have any fonts that looked exactly the way I wanted them to, so I joined up the words by moving the letters closer together.
Print this out. Remember that you want to print / draw it a lot bigger than the final charm, because you will be shrinking it down soon.
Place small dots of sticky tack around the letters.
Place a sheet of clear shrink plastic on top, pressing it down at the sticky tack on to the letters, so that it's secured tightly.
Carefully cut around the letters, through the paper and shrink plastic with a pair of scissors. Use a Stanley knife to cut out tricky detailed areas and in between the letters.
Punch two holes out of the top corners at either side of the name.
Remove the paper backing and sticky tack from the name.
Shrink down in an oven.
Cover the backs of the crystals in clear glue, I used nail varnish, and carefully place around the letters using tweezers.
Cover the whole necklace so that it sparkles.
Slip jump rings through the two holes you made earlier and attach your name pendant to a chain. Voila, you're ready to sparkle!
