Black Pepper & Herb Cornbread

Quick and easy cornbread with lots of herbs and black pepper.

You Will Need (10 things)

  • 250 ml Soya Milk
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar
  • 6 tbsp Butter
  • 150 g Cornmeal
  • 100 g Plain Flour
  • 1 tbsp Dried Herbs
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
  • ¼ tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 Eggs

Steps (8 steps, 25 minutes)

    Make your own buttermilk by whisking together the soy milk with the vinegar and leave 5 minutes.

    Whisk together the flour and cornmeal.

    Whisk in the herbs, black pepper, sugar, salt and baking soda.

    Melt the butter and whisk into the buttermilk along with the eggs.

  5. 5

    Pour the wet mixture into the flour and mix until well combined.

  6. 6

    Pour into a greased loaf tin.

    Bake at 200c for 30 minutes until golden.

    Slice into chunks with a bread knife.
