Well here goes another project... I had some spare jersey left over from my Jersey Skater Skirt project and decided to make a playsuit. I'd never made anything like this before and was a bit fiddly with the pleats but I think it turned out good! :) A How-to will be coming soon.....

Well here goes another project... I had some spare jersey left over from my Jersey Skater Skirt project and decided to make a playsuit. I'd never made anything like this before and was a bit fiddly with the pleats but I think it turned out good! :) A How-to will be coming soon.....

Instructions

  1. Small playsuit 1.

Cut out 4 of these shapes from the Jersey. Use some of your own shorts for reference and make the edges around 5cm bigger.

  2. Small playsuit 2.

Put 2 of the shapes together and sew where red lines are shown. Then repeat with the other 2 shapes.

  3. Small playsuit 3.

Then sew the pieces together where the red lines are.

  4. Small playsuit 4.

Cut out 2 long rectangles. Around 70cm in width dependent on chest size and height measured from waist to top of chest.

  5. Small playsuit 5.

Pleat top of shorts and pin. Repeat for bottom of top. Pin together and sew.

  6. Small playsuit 6.

Cut a thin piece of jersey that is the measurement all around the top of your chest (under your arms). Pleat top of playsuit and pin. Sew to thin piece of jersey.

  7. Small playsuit 7.

Cut 2 thin strips of jersey for straps. Attach to playsuit. You can cut these in half and then tie these into bows like I did.
