Birthday Cake

I'm not going to lie, I cheated with this cake as I had very little time before my Mums birthday party. I used a powered cake mix which you simply mix with eggs.

I used butter and icing sugar to make my own butter icing and used butter icing and jam to bond both halves of the cake together.

I coated the whole cake in jam and then used roll out icing to cover it. I then used some spare icing and food colouring to make the flower design.

Please note, this is the first time I have used roll out icing so it's not very good, but I hope with practice I will get better :)
