Bird Feltie With Pattern

A Colorful 60's Style Perky Bird Hanging Feltie

I made this with Eco-Fi felt (which I sell in my Etsy shop by the sheet) in the colors Peacock Blue and Apple Green, with Neon Green for the eyes and Goldenrod for the beak--the outer edge and the appliques are done with blanket stitch, and the feathers are done with stem stitch. The banket stitch around the edges of the wings and outer eye appliques are done with DMC #470, and the feathers and around the inner eye are done with DMC #166. To make the cord with matching DMC thread #996 that was used for the outer edge of the bird, take a 25 inch length of all 6 strands, and twist it until it wants to buckle back onto itself, then attach a weight to the middle of the cord (I used my glasses because they were handy), bring the ends together, and then let the down pull of the weight make it twirl around and twist the single cord into a double cord--it will do this automatically. If you have any questions, convo me at my Etsy shop--and thank you for looking!
