You Will Need (5 things)
- Birch Bark (collected from the ground or from firewood)
- Watercolor Pencils (or water colour paint)
- Embroidery Floss
- Scissors
- Water
Steps (5 steps, 10 minutes)
-
1
Gather supplies. Birch bark should be collected from the ground or firewood, not from a living tree. Thicker pieces of bark are needed.
-
2
Cut out desired leaf shapes from the birch bark. Depending on the thickness of the bark, you may be able to separate one cut into multiple leaves. Be careful to not separate them too thinly.
-
3
With the moistened watercolour pencils, colour the leaves in as desired.
-
4
The edges of the leaves can also be embroidered.

And if desired, the whole thing can be turned into a garland.
