Bibimbap - Korean Rice Bowl

Bibimbap is one of Korea’s most famous dishes and after one bite, you will know why this dish has become so well loved around the world. Fluffy rice topped with a sunny side up egg, some flaky salmon and all of your favorite vegetables and then drizzled with a salty, sweet and tangy sauce that will have you wanting this delicious dish often.

You Will Need (21 things)

  • 1 Large Egg (per bowl)
  • 4 oz Salmon , cooked, flaked (per bowl)
  • 1 cup -1 1/2 cups White Rice , prepared (per bowl)
  • 3 -4 pieces of baby Bok Choy (per bowl)
  • 1 Spring Onion , thinly sliced (per bowl)
  • 3 -4 thin slices of Watermelon radish (per bowl)
  • 1 -2 Shiitake Mushrooms , thinly sliced (per bowl)
  • 4 in Portion of Carrot , julienned
  • Clover Sprouts
  • Pickled Red Onion
  • Fresh Cilantro
  • Black sesame seeds or Red Pepper Flakes (optional garnish)
  • Seasonings ( Garlic Salt , onion powder, salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper)
  • Bibimbap Sauce (two servings)

  • 3 tbsp Gochujang
  • 1 tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Fish Sauce
  • 1 Large Garlic clove, crushed or grated
  • 1 tsp Ginger , crushed or grated

Steps (1 step, 30 minutes)

    1.Preheat your oven to 400 degrees
    2. Start by combining all of the sauce elements in a small bowl and set aside for now
    3. Prepare 1- 1 1/2 cups of rice per serving according to the manufacturers directions
    4. Place 4 ounces of salmon (seasoned to your liking) and 3-4 pieces of bok choy (seasoned with garlic salt, onion powder and cayenne pepper) per serving on a baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until the salmon is cooked to your liking and the bok choy is wilted
    5. Sauté your mushrooms (seasoned with salt and black pepper) until softened
    6. Cook your eggs sunny side up
    7. Assemble your bowl by adding a layer of white rice in the bottom of a wide bowl and then topping with your favorite ingredients
    8. Drizzle with half of the bibimbap sauce, sprinkle with black sesame seeds, red pepper flakes (optional) and fresh cilantro
    9. Mix the ingredients to combine
    10. Enjoy!
