CO 52 (56) sts with the color you prefer; join, being careful not to twist cast-on row. Work 2 rnds in k1, p1 rib. Rnd 3: K1 (0), *M1, k1*; rep from * to * around = 103 (112) sts. Rnd 4: Knit around (no increases). Rnd 5: *M1, k6*; rep from * to * around and end k1 (4) = 120 (130) sts. Continue in stockinette until piece is 5. (6) in / 13 (15) cm long. 1st dec round: *K10 (11), k2tog*; rep from * to * around. 2nd dec round: *K9 (10), k2tog*; rep from * to * around = 110 (120) sts remain. 3rd dec round: *K8 (9), k2tog*; rep from * to * around = 100 (110) sts remain. Continue decreasing on every round, with 1 less st between decreases on each rnd, until 10 sts remain. Next rnd: *K2tog*; rep from * to * around = 5 sts remain. Knit 3 more rounds without decreasing. Cut yarn and draw end through remaining 5 sts; pull tight. Weave in all ends neatly on WS.
