Inspiration: http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/mario-hat I liked the idea (and Mario), but I wanted it to be different, so, I changed it to be longer in the back to accommodate me.

Gather materials. Cut one circular piece of fabric. (One of mine had some stitching in it, ignore it.)
Cut another circle, making it slightly bigger than the first. This ensures that the hat will be slouchy.
(Sorry, no picture) Cut a circle out of the middle of the smaller circle. Make sure you can fit your head through it. You might have to adjust it to get the right size.
This is sort of hard to describe, but not hard to do. Align the two big circles together. Pin it if you need to.
Sew around the edges of the two big circles. You can also hem the edges of the smaller circle if you want, for a more refined looking hat.
Flip it inside out and voila! A beret like hat. Wear it on the crown of your head like a slouchy beret. I use bobby pins to keep it in place because I have a small head.
