I saw this gorgeous hair clip at a jewelry store but it was too expensive for me so I decided to make my own. I did have to make it into a pin because I couldn't find an appropriate hair clip. It might look difficult but it's not.

Draw a butterfly outline. Decide upon the number of beads you want to use and play with their arrangement a bit.
Shape, bake and file butterfly wings according to your outline. I recommend embedding beads into the clay before baking and replacing them afterwards if they get burned. If not, take them out anyways (carefully!) and super glue them back in.
Colour the butterfly with a silver colouring pen and slightly wipe it off to get that tarnished silver vintagey look. Finish with a coat of clear nailpolish.
Apply superglue to the back of the butterfly and glue hair pin to it. Be careful not to glue the pin's ends together, rendering it useless. The horizontal pin is the pin in question, while the vertical is being used only to hold the whole thing together while the glue dries.
Enjoy your beautiful new hair pin!
