Make your own ear cuff for nEARly nothing, all you need is a few beads and some jewelry wire. It is also a great project for someone who is trying to branch out from beading and work a little bit more with wire jewelry.

Description

Make your own ear cuff for nEARly nothing, all you need is a few beads and some jewelry wire. It is also a great project for someone who is trying to branch out from beading and work a little bit more with wire jewelry.

Instructions

  1. Small 110099 2f2015 07 27 065304 earcuff 2

Cut a length of wire and make a loop at one end.

  2. Small 110099 2f2015 07 27 065350 earcuff 3

You're going to begin zig-zagging the wire, this will be making up the actual cuff part. To do this, use your rounded pliers and turn the wire so it is going in the opposite direction.

  3. Small 110099 2f2015 07 27 065445 earcuff 5

Repeat this 3-5 times. Try to keep each rung about the same length.

  4. Small 110099 2f2015 07 27 065526 earcuff 6

Do one more turn but instead of making this rung full length, grab the wire about halfway down and bend it so the wire now points downward.

  5. Small 110099 2f2015 07 27 065603 earcuff 7

Thread about an inch worth of beads on the vertical wire. Loop the wire at the end and cut off any excess wire.

  6. Small 110099 2f2015 07 27 065646 earcuff 8

Begin shaping the cuff portion by wrapping the zig-zag part around a pencil or dowel.

  7. Small 110099 2f2015 07 27 065719 earcuff 9

Add an accent bead to the bottom loop.

  8. Small 110099 2f2015 07 27 065813 earcuff 10

Now all you have to do is bend and shape the cuff and beads to fit your ear shape.
