my friend is getting married, and the theme for the Bachelorette Party is Bats n Bows! i had these wine glasses already, waiting for a day when i could come up with something fun to paint onto them, and the bachelorette party seemed the perfect thing to use them for :) (p.s. the time i put up there is about the length of time for all hands-on work, not including drying time)

if you're using a stencil, draw it out and tape to the inside of the glass (luckily my fingers are pretty slender, it was hard to get them juuust right, so keep that in mind). if you're more awesome than i am and can freehand really well, then la-dee-da for you :P
now you start painting inside the stencil lines. this can be a little tricky, since there's a gap between your painting and the stencil, so make sure to turn the glass as you're painting
let dry completely. if you have any small mistakes, use a toothpick to clean away the paint before it dries completely. anything else that needs cleaned off, use some paint thinner and q-tips (the ones that are pointy on the end are great for stuff like this)
after it's dry, remove the stencil. hand wash ONLY (if you happen to look through my projects, i have some other glasses that my mom made for my wedding back in 2007- Day of the Dead toasting flutes. i've always hand washed them and none of the paint has chipped off in all these years)
we have the bats so now it's time to tie on pretty bows to the stems :)
