Description

I've made quite a few 'girly' aprons so this is my attempt at a plain one **adjust measurements according to what looks/feels right for your own size

Instructions

  1. Small dsc08990 1268602807

cut a 35"x20" rectangle out of the fabric

  2. Small dsc08992 1268603006

from the top, 6" in from each side draw a diagonal line that reaches to 14" down the side (adjust the 14" so that it is the length of your torso because this is where your pieces to tye the apron will be sewed to)

  3. Small dsc08993 1268603095

hem all the edges except 8" up the side from the bottom and across the bottom. then flip apron over and hem the rest the opposite way than the rest (this will be for the pocket)

  4. Small dsc08994 1268603715

fold up that 8" bottom section that you hemmed backwards and sew the sides + up the fabric to make as many compartment/pockets as you want (i did 3)

  5. Small dsc08996 1268603777

cut four 25"x3" strips of material it can be matching or a new pattern if you want to mix it up a bit

  6. fold strips in half ( so they look 1.5" thick and hem along the bottom and inside but LEAVE ONE END OPEN. now you can use a pen or something to turn the piece in side out so you can't see the cut ends

  7. Small dsc08998 1268603928

    optional: iron the strips flat

  8. Small dsc09000 1268604084

sew the strips at the unhemmed end to the 2 top corners of the apron and where you waist will be (at the corner of the diagonal part) voila! perfect for cooking, gardening, painting or whatever else people wear aprons for
