This is definitely one of my favorite projects.
A couple years ago I made a white and pink glittered up pair of these Barbie shoe earrings and I always get a ton of compliments! Hardly anyone believes that I made them.
(you're exactly right about it being tricky to get the nail through, I've split many shoes that way!)
Ah wow i love this SO much
they better have all the stuff i need in the jewlery store >;O
and in the toy store (:
If these work ill forever love you

Lol, after reading this, I immediately jumped to my closet and searched for the old Barbie stuff. I found a shoe and so, voilá, I LOVE my new blingbling xD

Hi Cat thought you might like a picture of the shoe earrings I made. I also stole a radio and made a necklace!!
Oh and my tip for making the hole in the show was to get a pin and then push it inti a pin board ... always works!!
I've made these before too. The easiest way to pierce the shoes is to use imitation barbie shoes instead. The cheaper generic dolls have much thinner shoes, and you can simply poke them with a regular (not necessarily heated) pin. This would be especially good for the Dorothy shoes since they're gonna be covered up anyway.
Cute! ^_^ Another way you could make the hole is by heating a pin up over a candle (hold it with pliers as it gets hot!)and push it through. Me and my sister used to do it this way when we made plectrum jewellery.

Ahhh I remember my first pair of barbie shoe earrings. I was just about to put this on my site actually. I'm diggin' the color! If somebody doesn't have a small drill; a hot needle, pliers, and a candle works perfectly for making the hole in the heel. =)

I wonder if we have any Barbie-shoes back home.....
I think I just shoved a sharp needle or a pin into the shoe to make the hole, but it takes a bit longer
