Alright this is NOT my recipe. I tried it from "Vegetarian Times" Magazine april 2010 issue. It says it was created my Alison Ashton of Los Angeles CA. So all credit to her!

But it is so freakin good that i have to share it to the world or i will burst and die from deliciously goodness. >.<

This is the best thing i have made from this magazine since i subscribed ...its a dessert but whatever its amazing. And its so easy you'll kick yourself. lol Enjoy!

  • 2 tsp Lemon Juice , Divided
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • ¼ tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 cup Maple Syrup
  • 1/8 Tsp. Salt
  • 1 cup Maple Syrup
  • 1/8 Tsp. Salt
  • ½ cup Chopped Toasted Walnuts
  • ½ cup Chopped Toasted Walnuts

Steps (5 steps, 30 minutes)

  1. 1

Firstly, i'm basically repeating the recipe from the magazine.

    It says this serves 8.

But i only used 2 apples (for myself). And I barely finished 3 halves on an empty stomach...i'm a pig, but this is really filling. *.*

  2. 2

    + Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

+ Cut apples in half horizontally, and core.
+ Arrange apples, cut sides up, in shallow baking dish. Brush cut sides of apples with 1 tsp. lemon juice.
+ Combine brown sugar & cinnamon in small bowl; sprinkle cut sides of apples with sugar mixture. (i basically covered the tops in it :P)

  3. 3

+ Pour maple syrup in bottom of dish. (I poured it in the middle of the apple holes too. XD)
+ Cover with foil, and bake 10 minutes.
+ Uncover, and Bake 15 minutes more, or until apples are tender.
(the outside skin will be lil wrinkly. And i had to cook mine longer to make them as soft as i wanted.)
+ Transfer JUST Apples to serving platter.

  4. 4

+ Pour syrup and pan juices into small saucepan (pot), and stir in remaining 1 tsp lemon juice and salt; bring to boil.
+ Cook 2 minutes, or until sauce is thickened, whisking constantly.
    + Stir in walnuts.
+Spoon sauce over apples, & serve warm.

^_^ DONE! Eat it...yum yum yum.
