About

With Christmas half way here I decided to try and make some interesting ornaments to decorate my tree with (beside the basic type). When I saw these baby dolls at dollar tree an idea just sparked! Though these don't have to be just used for Christmas decoration, they could also be used during Halloween or even to hang in your car or room!

Steps (4 steps, 30 minutes)

  1. 1

First, gather all your materials! Set them out on a newspaper (or whatever you use to protect your work station).

Cut your baby doll's head off and give it a black base. (The easiest and most fast way is to use spray paint, but normal paint works as well, of course.)

  2. 2

After your first layer of paint dries begin to paint on your second coat in whatever color you wish.

To get the effect I wanted (and because I wanted to make the heads two-toned (even though I know it's hard to tell in the pictures), I used a sponge brush to dab on the paint instead of just spreading on the paint.

Allow to dry and then add on at least one more coat for good measure (for each color you use).

  3. 3

When your paint is fully dried, it is time to apply your mod podge or other type of sealer.

Make sure to give one good coat, if not two!

  4. 4

Now for the last step! Just take a hot needle and poke two holes in the top of the head. Run your wire into one hole, pull through, and tie off the end. Pull the wire back into the head and repeat with the other hole until you have the head hanging from a loop.

Now hang it up and rock out!
