Hand-embroidered portrait of my husband and I. Started many months ago (hence our hair being the opposite lengths that they are now), and finished yesterday (9/27/2014). Portraits were drawn by me, drinking coffee on lined notebook paper while explaining the concept of "Drawing what you see, not what you know," with my husband one morning. I decided to transfer them onto tracing paper, then taped it to a 11x14" canvas, and hand-embroidered them using crochet thread, and embroidery floss. Share initials lettering cut from heavy scrap-booking paper, glued onto the canvas, then outlined with fabric paint. The border is hand-painted with grey chalk-board paint, and black acrylic paint. Thank you for looking!
