Turn your oven to gas 8/ 230 degrees celcius. Gather your ingredients and a tin.
Put the flours, wheatflakes and cinnamon in a bowl and mix.
using a knife, add your margarine (Cold from the fridge) and chop into the dry mix to creat small lumps. Now using you fingers rub mixture until it looks like bread crumbs.
Grate the apple with the skin and add to the dry mixture.
Now add the sugar and sultanas. Stir well.
Add the beaten egg into the centre of the mixture and stir well until there is no dry ingredients left.
Line a baking tin and tip in your sticky dough. Press into the corners and edges of the tin and smooth the top. Brush the edges with milk to prevent burning.
Bake for 25mins or until skewer comes out clean. Sprinkle with a little demerara sugar and leave to cool in the tin.
Once cool remove to a board and cut into slices.
