My friend sent me a box of baby clothes for my impending arrival. I found this long sleeve onesie and loved the style, but sadly, it's March and a new year's baby shirt just wasn't going to work. I decided to fix it with some fabric scraps.

Description

My friend sent me a box of baby clothes for my impending arrival. I found this long sleeve onesie and loved the style, but sadly, it's March and a new year's baby shirt just wasn't going to work. I decided to fix it with some fabric scraps.

Instructions

  1. Prewash the shirt that you want to applique. Iron the scraps before you begin cutting. I used a lightweight interfacing and heat n bond on the scraps because I was using scraps of other t-shirts.

  2. Iron the Heat n Bond to the wrong side of the fabric scraps. Trace your pattern on to the paper backed side of the scraps. Carefully cut out your designs.

  3. I peeled the backing off the stripey background and ironed that on to the onesie first. Then I hand stitched around the edge to secure it BEFORE ironing the dinosaur design on. Then I ironed the dino design on to the onesie and hand stitched around the edge. Done.
