A few summers ago I fell and cracked the back of my head on a very large rock. I slipped on a little bit of water because my shoes had zero tread. I was diagnosed with a concussion and spent the next year trying to recover. I suffered from a bit of amnesia and I still have weird memory gaps. Having survived a traumatic brain injury, I have learned one very important thing: MAKE SURE YOUR SHOES HAVE GOOD TREAD. Since some of my favorite shoes have either zero traction or worn-down tread marks, I have figured out a way to wear the shoes I like without feeling forced to wear only soccer cleats and lawn aerating sandals.

Go through your closet and find shoes that are dangerously low traction. I chose my favorite pair of Dansko shoes. They once had excellent traction, but over the last several months, the tread on the back of the heels has worn down
Simply cut out a piece of the self-adhesive tread sheet to the desired shape and size.
Peel of the backing, and stick it on the heel and/or front sole of your shoe. Trim as needed.
I have added anti-slip tread to all of my family's shoes. My daughter no longer comes home with asphalt burn from slipping and crashing during recess. Falling down is no joke, even if it is often hilarious to watch. Protect your bones and your head and fix the tread on your shoes.
