These robins are easy to make but oh so cute! You only need a bit of yarn and half an hour of your time, so get started! I like them the way they are, but you can also add a ribbon to make ornaments out of them.

These robins are easy to make but oh so cute! You only need a bit of yarn and half an hour of your time, so get started! I like them the way they are, but you can also add a ribbon to make ornaments out of them.

Instructions

  1. Used abbreviations: sc = single crochet sl st = slip stitch sc2tog = single crochet two stitches together hdc = half double crochet Instructions between asterisks need to be repeated until the end of the round The number between brackets signifies the number of stitches at the end of that round Pattern for the belly: Belly in red/orange, work in spirals: Begin with a magic loop: 1. 2sc, 2hdc, 2sc in loop 2. 2sc, 1sc + 1hdc in the next stitch, 2hdc, 1hdc + 1sc in the next stitch, 2sc 3. 2sc, 2sc, 1sc, 1sc, 1sc + 1hdc in the next stitch, 1hdc, 1hdc, 1hdc + 1sc in the next stitch, 1sc, 1sc, sl st. Leave a long tail for sewing.

    Body in brown, work in spirals: Crochet 6sc in a magic loop, then: 1. 2sc in every sc (12) 2. *1sc, 2sc* (18) 3. *1sc, 1sc, 2sc* (24) 4-10 *1sc* 11. *1sc, 1sc, sc2tog* (18) 12. *1sc* Fill with stuffing. At this point you can sew the belly onto the body, but if you prefer you can do this afterwards too. 13. *1sc, sc2tog* (12) 14. *sc2tog* (6) Cut the yarn and weave it through the front loops of the 6 stitches you have left. Pull tight and finish up.
