Pudding Using yarn A, work 2 ch. Round 1: 6 dc in second ch from hook (6 sts). Round 2: 2 dc in each st around (12 sts). Round 3: (1 dc, 2 dc in next st) six times (18 sts). Round 4: (2 dc, 2 dc in next st) six times (24 sts). Round 5: (3 dc, 2 dc in next st) six times (30 sts). Round 6: (4 dc, 2 dc in next st) six times (36 sts). Round 7: (5 dc, 2 dc in next st) six times (42 sts). Rounds 8–14: 1 dc in each st around. Round 15: (5 dc, dc2tog) six times (36 sts). Round 16: (4 dc, dc2tog) six times (30 sts). Round 17: (3 dc, dc2tog) six times (24 sts). Round 18: (2 dc, dc2tog) six times (18 sts). Round 19: (1 dc, dc2tog) six times (12 sts). Attach safety eyes to pudding between rounds 10 and 11 and 6 sts apart. Stuff pudding. Round 20: dc2tog six times (6 sts). Fasten off and sew opening closed. This becomes the top of the pudding.
Cheeks (make two) Using yarn C, work 2 ch. Round 1: 6 dc in second ch from hook, join with sl st to first dc (6 sts). Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail to sew cheeks to pudding.
Cream Using yarn B, work 2 ch. Round 1: 6 dc in second ch from hook (6 sts). Round 2: 2 dc in each st around (12 sts). Round 3: (1 dc, 2 dc in next st) six times (18 sts). Round 4: (2 dc, 2 dc in next st) six times (24 sts). Round 5: (3 dc, 2 dc in next st) six times (30 sts). Round 6: (4 dc, 2 dc in next st) six times (36 sts). Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail to sew cream to pudding.
Berry Using yarn C, work 2 ch. Round 1: 6 dc in second ch from hook (6 sts). Round 2: 1 dc in each st around. Fasten off. Sew opening closed, leaving a long yarn tail to sew berry to leaves.
Leaves (make two) Using yarn D, work 4 ch. Row 1: 1 dc in second ch from hook, *2 ch, sl st in second ch from hook, 1 dc, rep from * once more. Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail to sew leaves to cream.
Making up Sew the cream to the top of the pudding, stitching securely all round the wavy edge. Sew on cheeks just below the outer edge of the eyes. Using black embroidery thread, embroider the mouth. Sew the holly leaves and the berry to the top of the pudding.
