Also, I put 20 minutes because I have no idea how long it took me and I was trying to account for drying time between layers... still, I don't think it should take that long... Paint all nails black. Don't worry if the coverage isn't perfect, only do one coat.
After black is fully dry, swipe the green over the top of it. Try to only go over it once, so get a good amount on your brush and paint from one side to the other, instead of from the middle. Also, you want a good amount of green, but don't worry if streaks of black show through. That's kind of the idea. ;)
Again, wait until the green layer is completely dry before proceeding to the top coat. After the top coat dries you can go ahead and clean up your cuticles with a Q-Tip. This sounds like a given, but I tried to do it between layers the first time and messed it up a little >.>
