this is Part 1 of the instructions for how to make your mitts. This project was inspired by one of my favorite books growing up: Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Perhaps these mitts are something that Alice would have worn, had she visited Wonderland in the wintertime. I’ve made the mitts very short, as that’s how I think Alice would wear them, but you can of course make them as long as you would like!

chain 21, join with a slip stitch for working in the round
work in US half-double crochet (hdc) for 10 rows (UK double crochet)
Form a button hole: chain 3, hdc into the 3rd stitch from your hook. work one round in hdc. work two hdc stitches into your chain 3 space, continue in hdc one more round. cut yarn and weave tail through loop.
make a second mitt using the same pattern. weave in all ends using your tapestry needle. You are now finished the first part of making your mitts!
