This is such a pretty way to add detail to your clothes. It works well on light to medium-weight fabrics, so it is perfect for lingerie or silk dresses and skirts.
If you are adding this decoration within a garment, you will need to do a bit of pattern alteration first to accommodate the lace if you don’t want to add extra length.

Steps (6 steps, 15 minutes)

Mark on your garment the width of lace to be inserted. Cut through the garment and neaten the edges of the seam allowances to be attached to the lace. Press the seam allowances back towards the main garment.

With the right side of the garment uppermost lay the lace along the folded-under edge of the upper part of the garment.

Sew through the lace and folded-under seam allowance.

Lay the right side of the lower part of the garment under the lower edge of the lace and pin in place.

Sew through the lace and the folded- under seam allowance.

You can then make up the rest of the garment as instructed in the pattern.
