About
I have big boobs for my size, that's just a fact. I'm 5'1" and about 120 pounds, and I have 34DDDs. Therefore, it's incredibly difficult for me to find swimsuits that fit well AND look good. I bought an XL swimsuit top from Hot Topic and it fits relatively well, but everything is out in the open, which isn't terrible, but it's not really appropriate for family time...so I decided to take a bra and fix it up so it'd be a smidge more appropriate.

Alright, so this is what we're starting with. Too small and too much cleavage....
-
2
Buy a bra that's bigger than the size you wear, and use scissors to cut it up.
-
3
Cut a certain section out of the bra so that you have enough fabric to work with.
-
4
Pin the cut our pieces to the bra.
-
5
Try on the bra after pinning (and before sewing) to make sure it fits right and re-pin areas of necessary. Try not to stab yourself with pins :)

Once you know the pins are where they need to be, you can sew the bra. I sewed the center of the two bra halves together, and long the edge of the swimsuit top over the original seam of the. I also did to small lines of stitching to attach the straps of the bra pieces to the straps of the suit (then cut off the excess bra strap.)

This is what the inside looks like. You can trim the bottom of the bra pieces off if you'd like.

Try on your top again to make sure it fits right and do any necessary adjustments. Then you're all good! Enjoy!
