This is an old handcraft I learn long ago from a classmate during my primary school. I make some many of them to present to my teacher during Teacher's Day!
This is an old handcraft I learn long ago from a classmate during my primary school. I make some many of them to present to my teacher during Teacher's Day!
Prepare all the material
You can use needles with bead's pin head or you can customize your own pin head by adding beads into it before use.
Cut a small piece of paper according to the shape of the soap
Fold the paper into quarter and mark 5 marks on it with same gaps.
Make a small cut on the marking and you will have a nice pattern to mark where you need to insert the needles!
Fixed the paper position with two pins.
Insert the needles onto the soap according to the cut marking. Turn over the soap and do the same thing for the other side
Fold one end of the ribbon and pin it using one of the needle you have inserted earlier
Fold the ribbon in up and down pattern, always maintain the same direction as shown in the picture
No skipping between needle when do the folding pattern, wrap the upper needle, turn and twist and wrap the lower needle and repeat...
turn and wrap and repeat...
You should see such a pattern forming...
When you finished go around the whole soap. Let the end of the ribbon go under the pleat and pull into the underneath side...
Secure the end with a pin.
Decorate the wire with some ribbon or beads..the wire will serve as the handle to the 'ribbon basket'
Now, you have completed a ribbon soap basket!
