You Will Need (1 thing)

  • 1 A Meter Of Fabric

Steps (13 steps, 60 minutes)

  1. 1

TO MAKE THE WAIST BAND START BY LAYING THE FABRIC FLAT RIGHT SIDE DOWN

FOLD OVER 2-3 INCS ENOUGH TO THREAD THE ELASTIC THROUGH

    DOUBLE FOLD & PIN

  2. 2

SINGLE STITCH FROM END TO END

  3. 3

DO THE SAME WITH THE BOTTOM OF THE FABRIC TO MAKE YOUR HEM

  4. 4

NOW TAKE THE FABRIC FOLD IT IN HALF RIGHT SIDES FACING

    PIN THE RAW EDGE'S TOGETHER
STARTING UNDER THE WAIST BAND SEW ALL THE WAY DOWN

(YOU NEED TO START UNDER THE WAIST BAND AS IT NEED'S TO BE LEFT OPEN TO THREAD THE ELASTIC)

  5. 5

I LIKE TO SINGLE STITCH THEN ZIG,ZAG STITCH OVER IT TO OVER LOCK

    CUT AWAY ANY EXCESS

  6. 6

NOW LAY YOUR FABRIC FLAT MAKING SURE YOUR SEAM IS CENTER BACK

PUT A FEW PINS THROUGH THE WAST BAND TO SECURE IT

  7. 7

NOW STEAM IRON ONE SIDE TO MAKE A CREASE

    REMOVE THE PINS

YOU SHOULD NOW HAVE A CREASE RUNNING DOWN YOUR SKIRT

THIS WILL BE YOUR GUIDE FOR THE GATHER

  8. 8

NOW HOLD THE ELASTIC AT YOUR WAIST & STRETCH IT TO WEAR YOU WANT YOUR GATHER TO COME UP TO

GIVE OR TAKE AN INC OR TWO

  9. 9

PIN THE ELASTIC JUST UNDER THE WAIST BAND

DO A REVERSE STITCH OR TWO TO SECURE IT INTO PLACE

  10. 10

PULLING THE ELASTIC AS MUCH AS YOU CAN USING THE CREASE LINE AS YOUR GUIDE STRAIGHT STITCH ALL THE WAY DOWN THE SIDE TO THE HEM

YOU WILL SEE THE GATHERED EFFECT AS YOU SEW

  11. 11

YOUR SKIRT SHOULD NOW LOOK LIKE THIS! :)

  12. 12

MEASURE THE ELASTIC AROUND YOUR WAIST

PIN IT TO A SAFETY PIN & THREAD IT THROUGH THE WAIST BAND

SEW THE ELASTIC TOGETHER THEN SEW THE WAIST BAND

  13. 13

    & YOUR DONE :)
