Here is a very simple tutorial for a fabric sign that can be made in just 15 minutes. This can be customized to any size, shape, or color you'd like. Great for beginners/noncrafters or those who just want to use up a swatch of cute fabric.
Here is a very simple tutorial for a fabric sign that can be made in just 15 minutes. This can be customized to any size, shape, or color you'd like. Great for beginners/noncrafters or those who just want to use up a swatch of cute fabric.
Step 1: Cut and iron a 10x10 inch square piece of fabric. Next, carefully cut a 8x8 inch square piece of black foam board ( I found mine at the Dollar Store) using an exacto knife. Try to make sure edges are as smooth as possible. Then, cut a 10 inch piece of coordinating ribbon or cut to desired length.
Step 2: Place fabric facedown (pattern side down) & place foam board on-top in middle of fabric (make sure it is centered). Using a hot glue gun, carefully glue fabric to the foam board one side at a time. Stop to smooth fabric & pull it taut before gluing each side, folding each corner carefully as you go. Allow glue to dry for a minute.
Step 3: Place ribbon facedown (pattern side down) and place one inch from corner edges or to desired placement. Glue ribbon in place, making sure it is securely attached. Allow glue to dry for a minute & then hang up an adorable sign:)
